Chamberlain's brigade assaults the Confederate line
Following his legendary exploits at Gettysburg, Joshua Chamberlain became brigade commander in the Fifth Corps and led his men in the ill-fated attacks on the Confederate siege lines at Petersburg in June, 1864. He was wounded and granted what was regarded as a dying promotion to Brigadier General, but recovered and returned to the Army of the Potomac in 1865 for the final battles of the war. Chamberlain’s story after Gettysburg, and his actions in the Petersburg Campaign are recaptured in this hour-long documentary film.
